Hello, I'm Siobhan

If you’ve made it here, you probably want to get a feel for me and decide if we’ll be a suitable match for working together. The right ‘fit’ in therapy is essential for changing so congrats on taking this difficult first step towards creating new possibilities in your life.

An important thing or two to know about me is that my name is pronounced "Shiv-awn" (it’s Irish for the name Joan) and I was raised in Toronto. I am married and have two daughters and a shaggy doodle named Strudel.

As a registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist, my passion lies in offering a supportive and confidential space for reflection, and to help create opportunities for you to know yourself more fully, connect with others more deeply and to live more authentically.  My approach is deeply rooted in unconditional empathy, curiosity, continuous personal growth, and a love of learning.

My practice is located in Toronto and I offer both in-person and online services. Evening and weekend appointments are available. I specialize in helping adults and adolescents better manage their anxiety, depression, relationship woes, stress, and many of life’s challenging transitions. But let's talk about what matters first: creating a safe and comfortable space where we can have open and relaxed conversations that lead to insight, a deeper understanding of yourself and meaningful change. I am committed to helping you explore some of the patterns behind how you think, feel and respond to situations that are causing you difficulty. Together we'll talk about what’s important to you and work hard to find new ways of coping so you can feel better and create long-lasting changes for yourself.

On the academic side of things, I have a Master of Social Work Degree from York University, a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from Carleton University, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Carleton University. Additionally, I've trained in various therapeutic modalities over the years including Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Therapy (AEDP), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) for anxiety, depression, OCD, panic attacks and ADHD, Mindfulness-based CBT, Addictions Counselling, Motivational Interviewing, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Interpersonal Training, as well as Attachment and Trauma informed modalities. If you’re ready to take the next step in your self-care journey, let’s connect and introduce ourselves to one another. I’m looking forward to meeting you!
