Hello. I'm

Siobhan Marko

If you’ve made it here, you probably want to get a feel for me and decide if we’ll be a suitable match for working together. The right ‘fit’ in therapy is essential for changing so congrats on taking this difficult first step towards creating new possibilities in your life.

An important thing or two to know about me is that my name is pronounced "Shiv-awn" (it’s Irish for the name Joan) and I was raised in Toronto. I have been married for over 20 years and have two daughters and an older doodle named Maisy.

OVER 20 YEARS OF PROVIDING CARE & SUPPORT

As a registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist with over two decades of experience, my passion lies in helping guide individuals towards self-discovery and life transformation. My approach is deeply rooted in unconditional empathy, continuous personal growth, curiosity and a love of learning.

MY PRACTICE AT A GLANCE

I specialize in helping adults and adolescents better manage their anxiety and depression, relationship woes, stress, and many of life’s challenging transitions. But let's talk about what matters first: creating a safe space where we can have open and relaxed conversations that lead to insight and meaningful change. I am committed to helping you explore and understand some of the patterns behind how you think, feel and respond to situations that are causing you difficulty. Together we'll explore what’s important to you and work hard to find new ways of coping so you can feel better and create long-lasting changes for yourself.

EDUCATION

On the academic side of things, I have a Master of Social Work Degree from York University, a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from Carleton University, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Carleton University. Additionally, I've trained in various therapeutic modalities over the years including Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Therapy (AEDP), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-based CBT, Addictions Counselling, Motivational Interviewing, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Interpersonal Training, as well as Attachment and Trauma informed modalities. If you’re ready to take the next step in your self-care journey, let’s connect and introduce ourselves to one another. I’m looking forward to meeting you!
